It makes sense with all of this that Welch would be awarded with the Antoinette Dakin Leach Award by the Women In Law Division of the Indianapolis Bar Association. The fact that Sally Zweig nominated her just before appearing in her court through judicial changes is happenstance, or very lucky, or just typical for Indiana courts.
